Brookings Weekend

Had a nice roadtrip last weekend. Drove 4 hours south, small town of Brookings - right on the border of Oregon/California. My uncle Michael lives there and my grandmother was over for the weekend. Needed to spend some time with her, and the weekend was a lovely one filled with sunshine, sandy beach, various workers comming to remodel the house, dogs running around and wireless Internet!

My Honda

After maaaaaany requests I am posting a pic of my wheels, the Honda Civic which has given me my freedom. This past week it has also freed my account of a considerable amount as things are falling apart in the engine....not good!

Since LA...

So since I have been back in Oregon, after sunny California, it has been a rainy stretch, pouring down at times. Even in California it has poured and Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency due to the rain! Hahahaha...sounds kinda funny, but guess it is not funny if your house goes sliding down the hill...

Continuing to work at Jaspers Deli, yet resigned yesterday and this week is my last week there. Next week i start working with Looking Glass and their at-risk girls. Looking forward to doing something I love! It may or it may not be a good thing, time will tell.

This last weekend we made a trip to Portland to see Cirque Du Soleil. For those of you who have never heard of them you better Google it and take a look at their story! They are AMAZING and their site provides little movieclips from their shows! Awesome! We drove up saturday and stayed in our regular hotel run by indians, cheap but central. Dad as always brings his own sheets and pillow. Wandered around the Pearl District, art galleries, Whole Foods, Italian market, Powells bookstore, for hours! Carmen cried half the night from a sore throat, so not much sleep there. Yet the next day all was good and we met up with Christian and his kids for breakfast at Jake's Grill, connected to the fancy Governor Hotel. We are sooooo posh! :) Then off to the mesmerizing world of Cirque du Soleil! We loved it! Parked close to a bridge while at the Cirque, and found that people were living up under the bridge - right at the top in the corner so to say - nice carbondioxyde scented livingroom!
